Leary and Brown are third generation builders, who are well known in the Columbus community. Quality and expertise are top notch. Custom homes are built based on your wishes and ideas.

We are one of only a few, true custom builders left, especially in this community. We work hard to ensure you receive the best price, as far as materials and workmanship go, but don’t sacrifice quality.

There are multiple ways financing can be obtained: Some homes are builder financed throughout the construction process, then when the home is completed, you obtain a traditional mortgage through a lender of your choice. If we are building on land that belongs to the buyer, a construction loan is sometimes needed. Talk to our sales staff about individual circumstances.

Everything that is listed in your specs. Materials. Workmanship. Your superintendent. Travel expenses of our staff. Any additions made throughout the building process could result in additional costs due at closing.

We do. We offer a warranty through a company called Bonded Builders. Systems are covered for two years. Major structural defects are covered for ten years. One year for workmanship and materials.

There are many variances in the answer to this question. If you are building a home on a piece of land that is owned by Leary and Brown and is already cleared and ready to build on, the process may take around six months. If we are building on land that is not cleared and ready, it could take a little longer. Weather is also a factor.

You will communicate with Jamie McVay during the initial consultation and while plans are being drawn, updated and finalized. Once building has started, you will still have communication with Jamie, but will also begin working with one of our three outside builders, Ralph Leary, Jr., Richard Leary, or Bill Jones.
